About Walking Calc

Walking Calc exists because walking is the most underrated tool in fitness. It needs no gym, no gear, and no willpower marathon — just steps, repeated daily. The catch is that its results are slow enough that most people quit before the math has a chance to work. So we built the math.

Our flagship Weight Loss Planner turns four numbers — your age, weight, goal, and daily steps — into an honest projection: calories burned per day, a week-by-week timeline, and checkpoints you can actually hit. The supporting calculators answer the everyday questions: how many calories your steps burn, how far they take you, and what a healthy goal weight looks like for your height.

Everything runs instantly in your browser. No accounts, no sign-ups, and none of your numbers are ever sent to our servers or stored by us. The estimates are built on published exercise science — MET values from the Compendium of Physical Activities and the standard 3,500 kcal-per-pound model of body fat.

The site is supported by unobtrusive ads, which only load if you accept cookies. Decline them and everything still works — completely cookie-free. Read more in our privacy policy.

One important note: we do math, not medicine. Our results are estimates for healthy adults. Talk to a healthcare professional before starting any weight-loss program.
