The short version

The calculators on Walking Calc run entirely in your browser. The age, weight, goals, and step counts you enter are processed locally and are never sent to our servers or stored by us. The site is supported by first-party affiliate banners (no cookies) and optional analytics (Google Analytics), which is gated behind your cookie consent.

What we collect

We do not require accounts and do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal information directly. Your health-related inputs (weight, age, goals) never leave your device. Your cookie consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage so we don't ask on every visit.

Affiliate links

The site is kept free by occasional sponsored banners for products we think visitors will find useful, such as web hosting. If you click a sponsored link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These banners are first-party HTML on this site — they do not load third-party ad scripts and they do not set cookies. They never have access to the numbers you enter into the calculators.

Cookies and analytics

The calculators themselves do not use cookies, and neither do the sponsored banners. The only cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, and none are set until you accept them in the cookie banner. Google Analytics operates under Consent Mode v2:

• If you accept cookies, analytics may use cookies to measure visits.
• If you reject cookies, analytics is limited to anonymous, cookieless pings. The site remains fully functional.

Health data

Although you may enter health-related numbers (weight, age, step counts), these are used only for the calculation you requested, only within your browser, and are discarded when you leave the page. We never see them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we don't collect personal data ourselves, such requests generally apply to Google Analytics; rejecting cookies prevents that collection entirely on this site.

Children's privacy

This site is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
